Diaphragmatic Anomalies

چکیده
Incidence Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) refers to a congenital defect in the posterolateral diaphragm at the “foramen of Bochdalek.” It is a relatively common cause of neonatal respiratory distress with an overall incidence between 1:2000 and 1:5000 live births. CDH accounts for about 90% of congenital diaphragmatic defects. Eighty to ninety percent of congenital diaphragmatic hernias occur on the left side. A hernia sac is only present 20% of the time. Retrosternal hernias (Morgagni) are much less common and only account for 2-6% of congenital diaphragmatic defects. Diaphragmatic eventration is even rarer but is a postoperative complication in 1-2% of children undergoing surgery to repair congenital heart defects.

متن کاملImperforate Anus Associated with Eventration of Diaphragm
Anorectal malformations (ARM) are associated with a myriad of congenital anomalies. The prevalence rates of associated anomalies range from 20% to 80%, commonest being urogenital anomalies. Other important associations and syndromes include Down syndrome and VACTERL (vertebral, anorectal, cardiac, trachea-esophageal, renal, limb) anomalies [1]. ARM has rarely been described in association with ...
متن کاملLeft-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia with Multiple Congenital Cardiac Anomalies, Hernia Sac, and Microscopic Hepatic Heterotopia: A Case Report
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is a common congenital anomaly of uncertain etiology. Its association with multiple congenital anomalies in various organs is well recognized and antenatal radiological evidence of congenital diaphragmatic hernia warrants thorough evaluation to detect other anomalies, some of which can be life threatening. Rarely, heterotopic hepatic tissue is identified in the h...
متن کاملCardiovascular malformations in Fryns Syndrome A case report
Fryns syndrome is characterized by multiple congenital anomalies including congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), and congenital heart disease (CHD).The prognosis of infant with Fryns syndrome and left sided CDH when associated with pulmonary hypoplasia is grave. We report a 2year old boy with Fryns syndrome who had right sided CDH, Tetralogy of Fallot, and other multiple congenital anomalies. ...
متن کاملNasopharyngeal teratoma ('hairy polyp'), Dandy-Walker malformation, diaphragmatic hernia, and other anomalies in a female infant.
Nasopharyngeal teratomas are rare and are infrequently associated with extra-oral malformations. The case of a premature female infant with multiple congenital anomalies, including nasopharyngeal teratoma, Dandy-Walker malformation, diaphragmatic hernia, and congenital heart defect, is presented. This constellation of malformations does not appear to have been reported previously.
متن کاملBilateral diaphragmatic defect and associated multiple anomalies.
Although congenital diaphragmatic hernia is one of the most common congenital anomalies, complete bilateral agenesis of the diaphragm is a very rare congenital malformation and frequently associated with other major anomalies. We report a case of bilateral diaphragmatic agenesis associated with major congenital anomalies. A 2,240-g male infant was born at 35 weeks of gestation to a 34-year-old ...
